Hello,
I want to move my publisher DB to new server,the subscribers will be on same old servers more than 1.
What i understand by looking at other articles,Please guide me.
1)Script out the publication,subscriptions.
2)Stop log reader agent and snapshot agent.
3)Take backup of the database.
4)Restore the backup on new server.
5)create publication and all subscription by the script in step1.
6)Start the snapshot agent.
My question are below.
1)The above steps are correct or i am missing anything..just wanted to know step by step process.
2)About logins,Since new snapshot will be sent to subscriber..do i need to recreate logins at the subscriber by scripting them on subscriber before removing subscription?
3)Do i need to script out logins from old server for publisher db and recreate on the new server?
3)Stopping the log reader and snapshot agent will allow to remove publication and subscription or any extra steps required.
